About

I’m Dani Asante. I’ve been freelancing for nine years. Last year I cleared $200K. The year before that, $185K. The year before that, a number I’m also not embarrassed by.

I’m not telling you this to flex. I’m telling you because most freelancing advice comes from people who freelanced for six months, panicked, and went back to a salaried job. Then they wrote a blog post about it.

Expert Freelancing exists because I got tired of watching talented people underprice their work, chase bad clients, and treat their freelance business like a side project they’d eventually grow out of. Freelancing isn’t a phase. It’s a business model. A good one, if you run it like one.

This site covers the things that actually move the needle: pricing strategy, client acquisition, contracts, invoicing, taxes, and the operational systems that keep a freelance business running without burning you out. I also cover platform strategies for Upwork, Fiverr, and Toptal — because platforms are tools, not identities.

What you won’t find here: hustle-bro motivation, “escape the 9-5” rhetoric, or vague advice about “just putting yourself out there.” If I can’t back a recommendation with numbers or direct experience, I don’t publish it.

I write for freelancers who are serious about this. You might be just starting out or already earning six figures. Either way, you want systems, not vibes. You want to make more money, work with better clients, and stop winging the business side.

That’s what this site is for.
